We have some absolutely beautiful scrapbook projects for you to see today !!
First, I'd like to share my sketch page with you. Here's the gorgeous sketch for August.
Here's my creation for the sketch challenge.
The heart chippies were gesso'd then hit with Perfect Pearls and several colors of embossing powder using Rae's chippie technique. The "gorgeous" chippie was hit with Tim Holtz stain only. Flowers and papers from the main kit. I added a few cardstock die cuts and flowers from my stash.
My favorite challenge each month, All that Flutters. I scrapped a few pictures of my baby purchased in 2012 after graduation from pharmacy school. The papers were perfect for Bumblebee. All papers are from the main kit with added flowers and embellishments from the respective add ons this month.
Here's another layout featuring my silly daughter singing to her music while all punked out. The papers are from the August main kit. I added some flowers from my stash.
I borrowed a die from Kim while at camp and Glimmer misted with Olive Vine. Then, I used a heat gun to dry. I left the heat gun on the branches longer so the paper actually started to burn. This made the branches turn brown. Pretty cool!
Circles, circles, circles. I scrapped the bouquet of roses that my husband had waiting for me after I took the second half of the pharmacy boards. It was time to celebrate six years of school work finally ending and the start of my pharmacy career. I popped in a little sliver of the black corrugated paper from a past kit. The white flowers are from the Swirlydoos store, the leaves are from my stash and all other items are from the August main kit, flower add on, and embellishment add on.
So, do you remember the SQOTW? I asked about your favorite mistake. Well, this layout has one on it! I bought the wooden "hello sunshine" piece and painted it black. It did not really show up on the page so I painted over it with yellow. Still no go. So, I sanded it down and hit it with some chalkboard Glimmer Mist in yellow. Sanded that down and hit it again with the GM. Guess it will do now.
Pretty much used all the yellows so on to this fabulous piece of paper! Now, I liked both sides of the paper but I only had the one piece. So, I cut it and flipped the cut pieces around so every other piece was the opposite side. Now, I could have both sides of the paper on one layout!
Now that the kit is almost gone, I will be back with you to share another edition of "Scrap your Scraps" on Saturday.
You have until midnight, eastern time, August 28th to complete the hop. Winners will be announced on the Swirlydoos Blog on 8/30.
