We have some absolutely beautiful scrapbook projects for you to see today !!
Here's the sketch created just for the November kit.
Here's my interpretation of the monthly sketch. I just love those pink, velvety flowers! Definitely a new favorite! The wooden branches were just coated with gesso. I added some of the cool washi tape and some pieces from the embellishment add on to create this one.
.
Here's my entry for the All that Flutters challenge. After some background stenciling I cut some banners and added some flowers to the corners as well as some butterflies. The remaining wooden pieces were altered with Tim Holtz stain.
Just wanted to share with you some ways to make your kit go further using this layout as an example. I like to have my background paper mounted on another piece of paper or cardstock. But, there's no need to use the entire piece so I cut a 1 inch margin around all four sides. I then use the resulting frame as the mount for my paper and I still have an 11x11 piece left to use later.
Another thing you can do is cut your tags. If you are going to be tucking a tag under a picture, paper or flowers just snip off a little past what will show and save the rest for another page or add it on to your current page. Your tags and ephemera will go twice as far this way.
I only used the word "Cherish" on the edge of this layout.
I even cut the wooden branches apart and only used what would show on the sketch page. Here is the left overs that will be used on this page.
I cut apart the flowers when they are going to be tucked under the picture, papers or other embellishments. Again, you'll make those flowers go twice as far when you can get away with this.
Here's the wooden piece altered with Tim Holtz stain.
Here's the wooden piece and bits of the cut up flower tucked in.
Hope that helps you make your goodies go farther!
This one was created for the Swirly Girls Challenge being hosted by Andie this month. The theme is "slipcovers." So, for my slipcover I used a 12x12 acetate piece with gold swirls. It was perfect for that black paper with gold embossed images we received in our November kit. I added some ephemera from the November embellishment add on as well as some flowers and other bits from my stash. That Prima gold lace was perfect to tuck in for some added texture.
You may have seen this mini printer's tray on the Swirlydoos blog for tutorial Wednesday.
I used the wooden lamp post, pieces from the November embellishment add on as well as pieces from past Swirlydoos kits and my stash to create this entry in Bec's mixed media challenge.
The tray is created from the Prima packaging used for their wooden embellishments. I've been saving these from past Swirlydoos kits.
Here's some close ups.
Thank you for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed the blog hop this month!
