Swirlydoos May kit reveal "Summer Grunge" with Jan

Hello! Hope you are enjoying your latest Swirlydoos kit. I loved the Prima papers and flowers.

The sketch created by Kim was another work of art too.

Here's the sketch for the May kit.

Here's my interpretation using some tiny prints of my little fluff ball, Jax.

For this one, I changed the color of the metal gate with Prima wax.

See how you can change the color with the Prima waxes?

I added some micro-beads to the flowers and draped the "love" necklace over the flowers.

More pretty Rose Quartz papers.

 Here's a few pictures of the OTP project that was in the technique add on.

What's really cool about this project is the fact that the heavy door plate on the left perfectly counterbalances the weight on the right side. This means that the piece can be hung from the left tag hole and will hang straight!

Here's a close up so you can see the texture created with the Tim Holtz mini tag stencil and modeling paste.

Had to add some Prima art stones and pearls.

May "Summer Grunge" OTP video tutorial

I am excited to share an OTP (off the page) video tutorial using the May technique add on from Swirlydoos. I used items from past and current kits, from the Swirlydoos store and my stash to complete this wall hanging. 

Some close ups so you can see the texture created with the modeling paste and crackle medium.

The corrugated heart was part of the April main kit of the month.

What's really cool is the heavy door plate on the left tag perfectly counter balances the weight on the right side of the tag. Because of this, I can use the larger tag's hole to hang this on the wall and it will hang straight.

Swirlydoos April kit reveal "Wildflowers"

How do you like the Swirlydoos May kit? Gorgeous isn't it? I love all the Prima goodies. So, let me share my sketch first. Well, I actually created a canvas rather than a layout.

Here's Kim's sketch.

Using a 12x12 canvas I used a stencil to create some texture with 3D Gloss gel first. Then, added some Prima watercolors.

  

Here's a few close-ups. 

I couldn't resist adding a Frank G crown to the spoon.

The Frank frame was painted with Sparks paint then sprinkled with some glitter.

I even used a Prima glue pen and some foils to add some sparkle to the canvas.
