Never miss one of our kits again!

We have some absolutely beautiful scrapbook projects for you to see today !!

The kit sketch never disappoints! This one is a beauty for sure.

Here is my example of the monthly sketch.

I scrapped some photos of my dd on her 1st birthday (19 years ago). She is wearing a dress my mother crocheted for her. The swirlies were cut from Home Decor Cricut cartridge. The leaves are cut with the Prima Forest Leaves die. All the flowers are from the main kit and the flower add-on. I added some random stamping to the background paper.

Next, I worked on the All That Flutters challenge. I love doing this challenge every month. I used the Prima Forest Leaves die to cut some leaves from the gold lace adhesive sheet. The cool chippie in the main kit was only glimmer misted then embellished with some flowers and brads from the kit. The Prima resin piece from a prior kit was painted with a mix of the same glimmer mist and clear gesso. After it dried, I used the new Artisan Powder from Prima to bring out the details.

I mixed some of the Art Stones with green paint and used them on this layout.

Here's an ancestry page that I created with a lot of the ephemera and flowers. The leaves were cut from the gold lace adhesive sheet using the Prima Forest Leaves die.

I added some beads from my stash. The chippie covered with Tim Holtz embossing powder and then spritzed randomly with Prima Color Bloom in antique gold.

Now, on to my favorite project with this kit! I loved this fan OTP.

I decided to mount mine on a canvas so I ripped the canvas and stuck the bottom of the fan inside the rip.

Then I used some of the 3D Gloss gel to adhere it to the canvas as well as do some random stenciling in the corners. After this dried, I painted the entire project with black gesso. Next it was on to the glimmer mist, mica powders, and mica flakes.

There is also some Art Stones mixed with Art Alchemy paint in Silver Spoon along with micro beads.

The silver leaves were cut from the David Tutera adhesive sheets using the Prima Forest Leaves dies.

The flowers are from the Swirlydoos store. The Prima resin piece from my stash was painted with a mix of clear gesso and glimmer mist then treated with the Artisan Powder to bring out the details.

The saying under the fan, "Start a fire in my soul. Fan the flame and make it grow."

I used the Bo Bunny collection to make some cards. They were a lot of fun and something different for me.

For the first card I just glimmer misted the bicycle. The leaves were cut from the gold lace paper. The saying was fussy cut from the paper. The second card has two layered cards that have been distressed. The leaves on this one are the Prima petals from a metal flower we got in a previous Swirlydoos kit. I just broke the flower apart and used the petals as leaves around the Prima flowers.

More Prima metal flower petals used for leaves in the first card. I used my Tim Holtz alpha dies to cut the letters from the gold bling strip. The second card is pretty simply made with a card layered over a banner and some splatters over all.

Another card with distressed layers and splatters. For the
last card I used cardboard as the base. The chipboard letters included in the main kit were just glimmer misted and then embellished with some bling included in the kit.

Thank you for stopping by and enjoy the rest of the blog hop!

Never miss one of our kits again!

We have some absolutely beautiful scrapbook projects for you to see today !!

As always, Beggahuna has a wonderful sketch included with our Swirlydoos kit.
Here's the sketch.

Here's my take on the February sketch. My grandparents a few years ago celebrating Christmas with us. It was the last Christmas we had with Grandpa. He was acting silly as always!
The leaves are cardstock die cut with the Prima Forest leaves die.
I altered one of the metal Prima butterflies by heating it with my embossing gun then dipping it in embossing powder. The embossing powder stuck to the butterfly and I was able to hit it with the embossing gun again to melt the embossing powder onto the butterfly. Voila! A red butterfly now!

Next, I'll share a layout where I played with the adhesive rub ons and some black embossing powders. This is a picture of my son taking a break during a spring break hike of the Grand Canyon in 2010.
T
I did some heavy distressing on this layout so I could tuck some of the Prima wooden pieces in along the edges.

I always love to create for the All that Flutters challenge hosted by Design Team member, Angelica. Here's my creation for the February kit. This is a SWAK wedding picture my daughter took at our wedding a few years ago.

 Here's a few close-ups.

Ok, how about that DIY frame that was in the kit? Have you played with yours yet?
Well, do you want to hear a little story? I had my February kit laid out on my scrap desk and had the paper picked out to put on the frame but I was waiting for the paint to dry on the frame before starting. My dear husband went into my scrap room to make a card for Valentine's day while I showered. He picked a few flowers from the February kit along with the one and only sheet of Blue Fern paper that I had chosen for the DIY frame!!! {{{gasp}}}

I thanked him for the sweet card, held it together, yes, I did. Then, while he was gone, I removed all his embellishments from the front and used the BFS paper to decorate the frame as planned. I picked a similar sheet of paper, not so dearly loved, glued his embellishments back on and affixed it to the front of the the card. Unless he reads my blog he'll be none the wiser!

So, here's my DIY frame.

I used the adhesive rub ons to do a glitter butterfly right on the glass.

Now, back to some more layouts. Here's a simpler one of my son many years ago.
I used a lot of the ephemera to make this one.

Here's a few close ups.

This was a fun one to create. I tore a bunch of strips and rolled them to resemble bark on a tree.

As you can see in the close ups, I then tucked flowers, ephemera and beads in randomly for interest.

This month I am honored to share the Anatomy of a Layout with you. This layout features two photos but could easily be adapted to feature three or four photos if you prefer.

As always, the Anatomy only uses the main kit. Visit Snapguide for the tutorial.
February is often considered the month of LOVE and Swirlydoos celebrated with a special kit featuring the LOVE project kit.
This was a fun piece to create.

I will share a Snapguide tutorial on how I created this piece along with a bonus tutorial on how to deconstruct your chipboard pieces. So, stay tuned!
You have until midnight, eastern time, February 28th to complete the hop. Winners will be announced on the Swirlydoos Blog on 03/01.  In order to qualify to win here is what you need to do:
