Well, this is the last lo from the October kit. The cb and vine are from past kits. This is my dh with his sister on our wedding day. She just got married on 10-11-12. How cool is that?!

Splatter and Drip Contest
Here are two entries for the Swirly Girls Challenge called Splatter and Drip. The idea is to splatter and/or drip your mists, paints, etc. to make a fun lo.
So, I used the last of my October kit to create the flowers on these two lo's and then just splatted GM over the backgrounds.
My sweet little boy out in our meditation garden. Used gesso and paints along with a stencil for the birds on a branch. Flowers created using TH Tattered Florals die and McGill punches for the centers. Butterfly cb piece was inked with Teal Damask from Ingvild Bolme.
Roger and me with my parents on our wedding day. I used all of the remaining Artisan Elements frames to help create the background for this one. Flowers made with same dies as above. The fairy is from Dusty Attic. I posted previously on deconstructing cb to make the fairy 3D. tfl!

Sweet
Another lift of an amazing lo created by a Swirlydoos' DT Member. This is a lift of the Round Robin entry by Angela. I loved her curled layers of paper so I had to lift it (with her permission, of course).
My dd and Roger's dd on our wedding day. tfl!
Magical
I received the latest Swirlydoos kit earlier this week and have been playing, again.
Here's a lift of Lisa's Anatomy of a Layout for this month. Thank you, Lisa, for the inspiration.

Yesterday Today and Tomorrow
My new kit just arrived and I had to break into it immediately! The colors in this kit are amazing!
The cb piece was covered with black embossing powder and then bronze embossing powder. The flowers and leaves are from a past kit and my stash. tfl!
Memories
Since I used the last of Inspiration to make the tag for this lo I started using the previous month's kit, Vintage Traditions, for this lo. The tag is a lift of Paulien's beautiful tag, again.
The flowers are from various kits as well as the cb heart which was covered in TH crackle paint. Some Smooch was spritzed on the background and the Prima chickenwire was stamped to create some visual interest. Bling and leaves from my stash. tfl!
Beautiful
Here's another lo using the last of Inspiration. The tag used on the lo is a lift of Paulien's, one of the talented Swirlydoos designers. This is a picture of my dn after the wedding. She really wanted to catch the bouquet and we ended up forgetting to toss it! So, I gave her the bouquet to take home with her the next day.

Round Robin for September--and, it's a winner!
Well, I totally forgot that I signed up for the RR Challenge at Swirlydoos. Thank goodness I was posting for the last week so that I didn't put someone else behind for their week. Kim hosted the challenge this month. She challenged us to use stuff from our oldest Swirlydoos kit and scrap an old friend. I found a lot of papers from my April 2009 kit and scrapped Roger since he has been my BFF since 1998.
Thank you for voting this lo as the winner of the Round Robin Challenge for September!

Layout of the Week
My first wedding layout, A Perfect Day, was chosen as Layout of the Week! Thank you to Swirlydoos.
Inspired
Roger wanted to ride the chopper down the aisle. I thought it was a great idea (I really think he thought I would disagree with it!). But, hey, it's our wedding so we can do what we want, right? So, we hopped on the chopper and rode it around the neighborhood on our way to the backyard where the ceremony would take place. Everyone loved it. I just had to ride side-saddle and make sure to keep my dress away from the pipes.
I used a PageMaps sketch for inspiration on this lo. All the papers are from the Inspiration kit. I added some flowers that were GM'd to match the papers. tfl!

The dress
What a whirlwind it was getting ready for our wedding. We decided to get married during our housewarming/engagement party. It would be a surprise for all of our guests. We spent fourteen hours in Springfield ordering and buying everything for the wedding that would happen in less than eleven days. We made over twenty-four stops on our whirlwind tour of Springfield. We did everything from ordering the cake to picking out my dress. Yes, we were a little unorthodox. The groom was there to help decide on the dress. It did need altering and we were told that with only ten days until the wedding it was too late to have alterations done. But, we were able to persuade the Russian seamstress to take the dress to her daughter for the alterations. She loved our surprise wedding plans and wanted to help make it happen.
Another lo using the latest kit from Swirlydoos.
This is the resist paper that was included in the kit. I did use the Prima brick mask to emboss in black with TH embossing powder. All inks were TH distress inks. tfl!
The rings
Here is another one wedding lo using the Inspiration kit. My dd took this picture of the rings and bouquet. I forgot the bouquet during the ceremony so I ran back in to get it for the pictures at least!
All the flowers were Petaloo or Prima whites that were GM'd to match the flowers in the forgotten bouquet. Again, the clocks were a perfect embelly just to represent the fourteen long years it took us to get to this point in our lives. Although I forgot the bouquet, the day was unforgettable. So, the page is titled, "Unforgettable."

Living on a prayer
Another wedding lo using a past kit from Swirlydoos. This one is pretty simple to showcase the photo. My dh really likes this picture and wanted it to be big so this is what I came up with at his request.
The Basic Grey cb letters were coated in TH Rock Candy and a 7G rub on was added to the photo. This picture of us praying right before the ceremony was caught by my dd. tfl!

Love
Hey, I scrapped three days in a row. Here's my entry for the Swirlydoos butterfly challenge. I used Camilla's Anatomy of a Layout from December of 2011 as my guide. All the papers are from the latest kit, Inspiration.
A Perfect Day
I am sooo happy! Not only did we move into our new home on the lake and get married in our own backyard to the surprise of our family and friends; I am actually scrapping again! This is my entry for the Swirlydoos sketch challenge. I used some photos from our wedding that my dd took for us.
We invited about 60 family and friends to our home for a housewarming/engagement party. We BBQ'd during the day and played horseshoes, washers, and hillybilly golf. The pool and hot tub were open and, of course, some people enjoyed swimming in the lake. Once the DJ arrived, we announced that the engagement was off because we were getting married in one hour! We made our grand entrance on Roger's chopper then enjoyed a catered dinner and music. It was a great night!

Round Robin #2 for 2012
Yes, I had time to participate in the Round Robin challenge again in February. The twist this month was to include hearts in your lo. I chose to scrap a 14 year old picture of my dd. She was such a cutie.
All the papers are from the latest Swirlydoos kit. The flowers are from current and past kits. The large cb heart was covered with TH crackle paint; it's from a past kit. The leaves are Prima and an unknown company-both from my stash. tfl!
It's a winner!
Thank you to all the lovely ladies at Swirlydoos for voting my layout, "It's been a long time coming," as the January Round Robin winner. And, thank you to Tracey for the awesome prize!

Round Robin #1 for 2012!!!
It's time for Round Robin and this time I went first. This is still my favorite Swirlydoos Challenge.
The twist this month was to use the song "Old Lang Syne" as the theme for the lo. First, I copied the words to the song on white cs and this is the strip used behind the title. Second, the song is about old acquantainces so I scrapped a picture of me and Roger. We have known each other for 14 years now. He knows me better than anyone (sometimes I don't like that about him!). My dd should be credited for taking this picture.
So, I used pp from the December kit as well as flowers from the December Swirlydoos and past kits. The pinecones were made from cs using a TH die.I used a Prima mask to create the brick pattern on the cs. The green letters are from a past kit and the black letters were from my stash of Thickers. I used a sketch from Got Sketch as my inspiration. tfl!
